4 Women Who Have Made Africa Proud." Happy International Women's Day"

Thanks Every March 8th African women join the rest of the of the world to celebrate the International Women's Day.

  This day is important as a reminder of historic and present journey women around the world has done to better their lives and importance to the world at large.

  This Year the women in leadership, call for equal future in a Covid 19 world.

  This is to tell the women in Africa to challenge everything that drags them back to become better and these are some examples of Women in Africa that has changed things in their society.

  These women did not only break the stereotypes and discriminations, they also go ahead to demand for gender equality and they have become shakers and great role models in their various careers.

  These women has continue to use their voices and and platforms to encourage girls and women rights, access to quality education, economic opportunities, among others..

  NGOZI OKONJO IWEALA.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala-first woman and first African Director Generalof the World Trade Organization.


Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is the first woman and first African to hold the position of the Director General of the World Trade Organization.
  The post of the Director General has been vacant since 31 August 2020, after the resignation of Robert Azevedo.
  Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is the seventh Director General of the WTO. She took office on March 1 2021, and her term, which is renewable, will expire on 31 August.
  She has serve twice as Nigeria Finance Minister from 2003-2006 (3years), 2011-2015 (4years) and once as Foreign Minister- the first woman to hold both.
  Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has over 30years experience as economist and International development expert.
  

Awards and Honours:

Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has received over 15 honorary degrees, including from Yale University, The University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, Tell Aviv University and Trinity College, Dubbin.
 

  Amina Jane Mohammed.

Amina Jane Mohammed- Secretary General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group

Amina is the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group.
  Amina Jane is a National Diplomat and Politician who is serving as the Fifth Deputy Secretary General of the UN. She was once a Nigeria Minister of Evironment form 2015-2016 and was a key player in the post 2015 Development Agenda process.

 She first join the UN in 2012 as Special Adviser to the formal Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon with the responsibility post 2015 development planning. She lead the process that result in Global agreement around the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development and the creation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

 Awards and Honours:

  Amina Jane Mohammed has won awards which include: Global citizen prize, at London Royal Albert Hall, Ford Family Notre Dame Award for International Development and Solidarity 2015, National Honours Award of OFR in 2006.
  
Mohammed was recently confirmed by the Nigerian Senate as a senior Minister in the new cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.

  Fatou Bendsouda

Fatou Bendsouda-Gambia Lawyer and Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.


Fatou Bendsouda is a Gambian Lawyer and Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. She has been the International Criminal Court's Chief Prosecutor since June 2012 after having served as a Deputy Prosecutor in Charge of the Prosecutions Division of the ICC since 2004.
  Fatous Bensouda is the daughter of Omar Gaye Nyang, who was a government driver and the country's most prominent wrestling promoter.

  Awards and Honours:

 She has received various awards which include; The distinguish International Jurists Award in 2009, 2011 World Peace Through Law Award, 4th Most influential Person in Africa in the Civil Society Category by Juene Magazine.
